The American government is neither a democracy nor a dictatorship. Our government is more or a republic than a democracy. One could say we have a Democratic republic government meaning each state is its own republic whom can decide what laws to make or pass. But also, a national, central government is also in place for things too. A republic is representatives of the people where as democracy is straight up people voting or direct democracy of people. So what would the answer be? Well in those 2 terms, the answer should be a democracy.
