The relationship between Hispanics in the southwest and the new settlers is not very good or shall we say they do not agree on anything. Most of the Hispanics has been thrown by the new settlers out of their homes and lands. The Hispanics in Mexico are the only ones that were able to defend their lands from the new settlers.
