Hamadi, by Naomi Shihab Nye, tells the story about a person that becomes important in another one's special moment of struggle by helping her realize that life goes on despite the heartbreak.

Explanation:

Susan reunites with Hamadi, who is an old family friend, and invites him go caroling. During their time together, Hamadi helps Tracy -Susan's friend- get over a guy by making her realize that a boy not liking her back is not that tragic and that life continues. Hamadi becomes Tracy's shoulder on which to rely on.

To my mind, the correct answer is letter (A). However, I will expand this idea by adding these statements. By including a counterargument, the writer´s thesis becomes stronger as the writer gives the opportunity to encounter certain objections beforehand. In addition, the writer has the chance to show that he/ she has considered and studied many aspects of an issue until he/she has finally reach the more appropriated one.
