Can someone explain the Figures of speeches ?

Some common figures of speech are alliteration, anaphora, antimetabole, antithesis, apostrophe, assonance, hyperbole, irony, metonymy, onomatopoeia, paradox, personification, pun, simile, synecdoche, and understatement.

Explanation:

A figure of speech is a word or phrase used in a non-literal sense. Things like similes, metaphors, personification, etc. Example: I'm so hungry I could eat a horse, obviously you can't eat a horse, it's just an expression.

It might be said that the excerpt has the characteristic of a neoclassical poem because it might represent a moralising and educational type of poetry. it is also rational and it does not call on feelings and imagination. it might portray an enthusiastic point of view based on verbal communication. it might include the usage of "heroic couplets"  (iambic parameter) and ,as regards the language style , it might be said that it is "elevated". probably because the poets of this period were well educated.
